I wanted to share a few opportunities coming up that you might be interested in in Cincy and beyond! “I’m not reading all that” summary is at the bottom. 

Wicked Cat Productions out of NYC- Looking for short Kink related plays for their new season. I have not gotten to work with them yet, but I loved talking and hanging out with the team when they were here with Stuck at Cincy Fringe a few years ago. Show Us Your Weird out of the Know Theatre- Erika is back at it! If you have something that you’ve been itching to do but you have no idea where it would fit or who would even take it because it’s just too weird… This might be the place! This was where I was able to workshop Buttons’ piece Don’t Cook Nekkid which was a part of Transcendent at Cincy Fringe this year. This show was ALSO where Ingrid Garner first showed the first half of A Hollywood Horror Story for the first time EVER! This piece was awarded “Critic’s Pick” at Cincy Fringe and also received an encore performance. All of that to say- FANTASTIC place to let yourself be weird!! Last year people were encouraged to tip artists. I think I made $100 off of it, but I’d have to double check. Show Of Hands Puppet Cabaret- Taking Puppeteers, burlesque performers, and any other freaky experimental artists. Serials at the Know Theatre- Oh my god it’s happening!! Our episodic theatre party is BACK! Being produced by AtoZ productions once again, we had an ENTIRELY sold out run last year. This will take everything from a single 10-15 minute play to a whole story arc (broken up into 2-5 15 minute segments) This is paid out per producer. Last year, completely sold out, producers who were there the full 5 episodes made about $400 total. Applications open on 9/21, close on 11/16. Submission link isn’t live yet, but it should be here: https://www.knowtheatre.com/serials-17/

And I know you’re saying “Oh my goodness! This is so much! I want to sign up for all of these things but what if I get accepted and then feel stuck???” Do! Not! Fret! Because you have the Queen City Queers at your back and we want you to succeed! Our next table read is on September 27th from 4-8 (You should hear back from Wicked Cat, SUYW, and SOH by then, and will have time to make edits before the shows).
